How To Install The Talos Principle: Gold Edition Download Free Graphics: DirectX 11 class GPU with 1GB VRAM (nVidia GeForce 480 GTX, AMD Radeon HD 5870) System Requirements for The Talos Principle: Gold Edition Download Free Made by Croteam and written by Tom Jubert (FTL, The Swapper) and Jonas Kyratzes (The Sea Will Claim Everything). The Talos Principle is a first-person puzzle game in the tradition of philosophical science fiction. There's definitely a lot in the story and ideas presented that will stick with me for a long time, and even as a puzzle game it's one of the most challenging and innovative ones I've played.Your browser does not support the video tag.
There's definitely a bit of "disconnect" between the puzzles and the story and I suppose if you're only interested in one aspect the other aspect may get tiring, but I really enjoyed both aspects on their own terms and definitely think that this game is easily up there with Portal.Īnyway, no real point to this I guess, just wanted to share my experience and say how much I loved the game. Really enjoyed the story and message board aspects, I think the Jerusalem choose-your-own adventure game really summed up the overall message of the Gehenna story and was a good way to end the whole thing.īoth the base game and its DLC are 100% done now so I guess the only thing left to do would be to do a second playthrough of the main game at some point to get the remaining "alternate Milton path" achievements, and keep looking for easter eggs (though I doubt anything will top the Leprechaun), which I may do at some point. I did eventually have to look up one solution online (the star in " Pendulum", doesn't require any difficult setup and isn't mechanically difficult once you see the solution, just is a bit obtuse to see what you're even supposed to do) but I'm proud to say that I was able to get all other stars and sigils myself (and some help from my SO who would occasionally watch me play.) Special mention to the " So Close, So Far" and " Crater" stars which are basically the opposite of " Pendulum", fairly easy to see what you need to do but pretty insane actually setting everything up to get you to that point, and extremely satisfying to finally get. The puzzles didn't pull any punches, the very first world had puzzles that were harder than anything found in the base game, and it just kept going from there. Last weekend I decided to pick it back up and see what Gehenna had to offer. Loved everything about the game, the puzzles, the story, the characters, but wanted to take a break and play some other games before eventually coming back to the Gehenna DLC. When you figure out the mechanic for one puzzle, youre forced to repeat it ad. The Witness is cool but it gets flat out tedious at times. The difficulty even with secret areas in the base game is almost at the precipice of the difficulty I like in puzzle games, and the DLC hits it spot on. About a year or so ago I picked this game up and went through the main story, got all the sigils and stars and did a bit of reloading so I could experience the three main endings. Talos Principle hands down, especially with the DLC.
